The Historic Dockyard is home to prestigous ships including Henry VIII’s Mary Rose and Nelson’s HMS Victory – the most famous warship in the world – and the city boasts a truly fantastic collection of historical buildings and famous architecture. Portsmouth’s skyline is dominated by the landmark Spinnaker Tower which offers stunning views over the harbour and beyond. It is also home to calm marinas, green parks in which to relax and a beautiful coastline to enjoy. In addition to being within easy reach of London, Portsmouth also sits close to the beautifully picturesque countryside of southern England. If you like shopping, you will love Portsmouth. The city boasts three main shopping areas, including the new £200 million waterside complex at Gunwharf Quays, which offers over 60 designer outlet stores, 30 restaurants/bars, a multi-screen cinema and a bowling complex.
