The city is relatively compact so it’s possible to walk everywhere with ease, although excellent public transport is also available. Central London can be reached directly by train in just 90 minutes from one of Portsmouth’s three railway stations, while it is also possible to sail to France and Spain from the city’s popular ferry port.
