It’s official – Portsmouth is the second happiest city in all of the UK!

That’s right, a recent study of all cities throughout the United Kingdom found that people living in Portsmouth were among the happiest in the country.

Only Chelmsford residents came out ever so slightly happier, with people from Portsmouth hailing the beautiful sunny weather, the friendly locals, the fantastic beaches and the inexpensive cost of living as reasons for their bliss.

In stark contrast, the study found that people living in London were among the unhappiest of all UK residents. Also revealed as being miserable were the residents of Southampton, Cardiff, Manchester and Birmingham.

ICP’s students echoed the sentiments of the Portsmouth residents who were interviewed, with one saying: “I’ve been studying here in Portsmouth for three months and it’s a great city to live in. The people are friendly, the weather is great and I love living here!”
