Portsmouth Graduate Recieves MBE
Portsmouth, UK - (16th June 2009)

A graduate from the University of Portsmouth has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Former student Rachel Lowe, who graduated in 2006 with a Law degree, received the decoration for her services to business.  The 31-year-old is the inventor of the highly successful board game Destination and frequently volunteers her time to talk to others about starting up their own businesses.

Rachel, who will attend Buckingham Palace later this year to receive her award from Her Majesty the Queen, said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received the letter and it still hasn’t sunk in. It’s a great honour.”

The University of Portsmouth’s pro-vice Chancellor, David Arrell, commented on Rachel’s MBE, saying: “The University is extremely proud of Rachel’s achievement and her resilience. We wish her every success in the future.”
